Omega Seiki Mobility, an Indian auto manufacturer, has teamed up with Exponent Energy, a battery-tech startup, to introduce an electric three-wheeler named Stream City Qik.

Stream City Qik is priced at $3,900 (around 324,999 Indian rupees) and will be available for sale from May 15 in Delhi and Bengaluru.

The Stream City Qik electric three-wheeler is designed for 15-minute full charges using Exponent Energy’s rapid charging technology, offering a range of 126 kilometers from an 8.8kWh battery pack.

Omega Seiki Mobility has an annual production capacity of 20,000 vehicles, with four factories in India.

Exponent Energy currently operates 60 charging stations in six cities in India: Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.

Exponent Energy aims to build 1,000 charging stations by 2025 and develop battery technology with lithium-ion batteries and an in-house battery management system.

Exponent Energy’s charging stations use off-board thermal management systems to maintain battery cell temperature during charging, enabling 15-minute full charges and a 3,000-cycle life warranty.
