Next year, the Optiq is set to join the ranks of Cadillac’s electric vehicle lineup, alongside the Lyriq, Celestiq, and Escalade IQ.

Cadillac is causing a stir in the automotive world, once again challenging autocorrect software with the unveiling of its upcoming EV, the Optiq. Positioned as a compact crossover below the midsize Lyriq, the Optiq is anticipated to make its debut in 2024 as a 2025 model.

Details about the forthcoming Optiq are scarce, as Cadillac has released only a couple of images without accompanying specifications or information. Cadillac has stated that “additional details, as well as available features and pricing, will be unveiled next year.”

Anticipated to leverage General Motors’ Ultium battery technology, the Optiq is likely to share components with GM’s compact electric SUVs, such as the Chevy Blazer and Equinox. This suggests potential variations with single and dual motors, featuring outputs that might rival the Blazer SS EV’s 557 horsepower.

Upon its debut, the Optiq will enter the competitive arena of small electric SUVs, vying against global contenders like the Audi Q4 e-tron, Genesis GV60, Mercedes-Benz EQB, and others. While pricing details are yet to be officially disclosed, expectations place it in the ballpark of $40,000, with confirmation expected in 2024.
