BYD Unveils The Yangwang U9 Electric Car
BYD Auto, a leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, recently unveiled its latest supercar, the all-electric Yangwang U9, at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show. The U9, priced at $233,000, is BYD’s most expensive vehicle yet and is expected to rival established brands like Ferrari. In terms of performance, the U9 boasts a top speed of 192 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0 to 62.1 miles per hour in just 2.36 seconds, thanks to its four electric motors that produce 1,287 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the U9 features BYD’s Disus X full active body control system, which allows the car to jump, shake, and dance in various “dance mode” songs.
The Yangwang U9 Interrior
The U9’s cockpit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including DiLink and DiPilot, as well as the “industry’s first self-developed racing assistant.” Covering nearly 30 tracks across China, this racing assistant mode learns the track alignment of top drivers with timing accuracy within 0.01 seconds. Additionally, the EV features two LCD screens, a 10.25″ driver display, and a 12.3″ vertical center infotainment system, with some configurations also including a third, 10.25″ passenger screen.
The Yangwang U9 Power and Charging
The BYD Yangwang U9 is powered by a 135.5 kWh LFP battery pack, providing up to 497 miles (800 km) of CLTC range. The car features an 800V system, allowing it to charge from 30% to 80% in just 10 minutes, and supports dual charging.
