German EV maker B-ON, DHL’s electric arm, tackles urban deliveries with the sleek Pelkan, unveiled at CES 2024. Harnessing Foxconn’s open MIH platform, B-ON, the StreetScooter heir, first showcased a futuristic electric delivery pioneer at the Japan Mobility Show.
Range & Battery
While EPA certification awaits, the 43.0-kWh and 54.0-kWh battery options in B-ON’s Pelkan suggest a potential range of 150-180 miles and 180-220 miles respectively.
Performance & Charging
The Pelkan packs a punch with 85 kW and 256 Nm, and refuels fast: 30-80% in under 30 minutes at DC stations, and 0-100% in under 8 hours on AC.
Size & Capacity
Hauling 1,235 kg at up to 120 km/h, the Pelikan packs big performance in a 5,725 x 1,850 x 2,515 mm frame with a 3,380 mm wheelbase.
Price and Availablity
B-ON hasn’t officially announced the Pelkan’s price tag either. Expect a starting price somewhere in the range of $60,000-$80,000 USD. B-ON aims to start delivering the Pelkan in the U.S. by the end of 2024.
