BYD will officially launch its new flagship electric SUV, the Great Tang, on June 17 in China. The seven-seat SUV starts at around $35,000 and is packed with advanced EV technology.
Up to 950 km Range

The Great Tang offers up to 950 km of CLTC range in its rear-wheel-drive version, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs currently available in China.
3.9-Second Acceleration

The all-wheel-drive variant can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, delivering performance comparable to many sports cars.
Megawatt Flash Charging

One of the SUV’s biggest highlights is BYD’s megawatt flash-charging technology. Built on a 1,000V high-voltage platform, the Great Tang supports up to 1,000 kW charging power, enabling around 200 km of range to be added in about five minutes under ideal conditions.
Premium Seven-Seat SUV

With three-row seating, advanced technology, long driving range, and ultra-fast charging capabilities, the Great Tang is designed to compete with premium electric SUVs while maintaining a relatively affordable starting price.
BYD Great Tang: D-Segment Full-Size Flagship SUV

The BYD Great Tang is a D-segment full-size flagship SUV and is expected to become one of the largest and most advanced electric SUVs in BYD’s lineup.
Large Dimensions and Wheelbase
The SUV measures approximately 5.26–5.30 meters in length and rides on a 3.13-meter wheelbase. Its generous dimensions provide a spacious three-row cabin and a strong road presence.
Comparable to Li Auto L9 and AITO M9
In terms of size, the BYD Great Tang is comparable to premium full-size SUVs such as the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9. Some reports suggest it could be as large as, or even larger than, these flagship models.
Inspired by the Dynasty-D Concept
The exterior design draws inspiration from BYD’s Dynasty-D concept vehicle. The SUV features a bold front fascia, modern styling cues, and premium design elements that emphasize its flagship positioning.
Conclusion
The BYD Great Tang combines long range, high performance, and next-generation charging technology in a practical seven-seat package. Its June 17 launch could mark another major step forward for the EV market.
