Tesla is making a new car that will cost around $25,000 to $30,000. It’s called the “Model 2.” This car is supposed to be ready by 2025. But before Tesla, there will be another American company selling a similar low-cost car.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, talked about this new car during a meeting about the company’s earnings in the last part of 2023. He said they are working on a new way to build cars, and it’s called “Tesla 3.0.” This means they are not only changing how the car looks but also how they make it.
The first place where they will make this new car is the Gigafactory in Texas, where they also make the Cybertruck. Later, they will make it in Mexico and other places around the world. Musk mentioned in October that this new car will be more common and practical, unlike some of their earlier models.
Tesla 3.0 is like the third phase in their plan. The first phase was the expensive Model S, the second phase was the cheaper Model 3 and Model Y. Now, with Tesla 3.0, they want to make a lot more cars, even more than big companies like Mercedes Benz, Honda, or Nissan.
According to Tesla’s chief financial officer, Vaibhav Taneja, they are entering a new phase of growth. The first phase was when they expanded globally with Model 3 and Y. The next phase will start with the new cars they are planning to make.
